Self-Assessor PIP Tool

Could your PIP choices reach an award range?

Choose one for each PIP activity. The checker totals daily living and mobility points separately, then shows what your selected descriptors could mean.

Important: this only totals the descriptors you pick. It does not decide a PIP claim, and it does not check whether DWP would agree with those descriptors.

How to use this checker

1. Pick one cardChoose the closest descriptor for each activity. Pick 0 points when it does not apply.
2. Watch the tallyDaily living and mobility are added up separately. They are not combined together.
3. Read the resultThe result says what the selected points could indicate. It is not a DWP decision.

PIP assessment guidance explains that descriptors are considered across daily living and mobility activities, and that reliability, variability and support needs matter. GOV.UK also states that 8 to 11 points indicates standard rate and 12 or more indicates enhanced rate.

Remember: PIP is about how the condition affects daily living and mobility. A diagnosis on its own is not enough. The real decision depends on your form, evidence and any assessment.
